A Nobel Prize winning physicist called Dr Gustaf Dalén invented the AGA 'heat-storage' Cooker in 1922. The doctor patented his invention in the same year and exported it to the UK in 1929 for manufacture at the AGA Heat Ltd factory in Smethwick.
